Church Minshull Parish Council is seeking a person for the part time post of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. The post is 4 hours per week and the salary is based upon the National Association of Local Councils’ salary scale.
The Clerk acts as Proper Officer for the Council, managing Council business and assisting and advising Councillors on the formulation of policies, decision-making and the fulfilment of legal and financial obligations. As the Council’s Responsible Financial Officer, the Clerk prepares the budget and ensures that the Council’s finances are accounted for in accordance with appropriate regulations.
The routine business comprises preparing: –
- agendas and accompanying reports for the monthly meetings;
- dealing with correspondence; and
- liaising with other organisations as required by the Council.
The Council meets bi-monthly in the evening on the first Tuesday of the month.
The successful candidate should be highly motivated, possess competent IT skills, be a good communicator (both oral and written) and as the professional adviser to the Council have a good knowledge of local government legislation.
