Gawsworth Parish Council gets Gold

Gawsworth Parish Council has become the fourth council in Cheshire to be awarded Quality Gold under the Local Council Award Scheme, following in the footsteps of Holmes Chapel, Knutsford and Somerford. This brings the number of councils accredited under the scheme in Cheshire to six – including Sandbach at Foundation and Tilston at Quality.

A number of councils are currently working towards awards under the scheme including Winsford and Congleton who are aiming for Quality Gold and Disley and Helsby who are working toward Quality.

The national scheme is overseen by NALC and administered locally by ChALC with support in reviewing submissions from the Cheshire Branch of the Society. Both SLCC and ChALC encourage councils to embark on the scheme to demonstrate your council is working to nationally agreed standards and strengthen the sector by demonstrating this to Government. If you’re thinking about becoming accredited contact ChALC for further advice.
